Burger King Japan announced today a special eat all you can “Tabetai Hodai” menu of its new one pound (454 grams) “Crown the One Pounder” cheeseburger to be held four times in September. BK Holdings Inc. which manages the Burger King brand in Japan simultaneously announced its Third One Pounder Challenge event to be held at the end of year.
In the Chubu Region the Tabetai Hodai event will be held only at the Sakae store on Hirokoji Doori on September 1, 2, 4, and 5 and only at four times a day each day with a maximum eating time of 45 minutes. The 3,900 yen tickets are only available online at a special site and include fries and a drink plus a limited edition T-shirt and Whopper carrying case.
The open flame broiled Crown has four beef patties and six slices of cheddar cheese and weigh in at 502 grams powering one up with 1399 calories. If you can manage a few of these mega cheeseburgers you could become eligible to participate in the One Pounder Challenge planned for the end of the year. According to the Burger King Japan press release, the record is nine One Pounder burgers in one sitting.
